Growing Readers: 0 - 3 Years
Research shows that the earlier children have contact with books and reading, the quicker their language and literacy skills blossom. As part of our ‘Growing Readers’ initiative Bright Horizons believes in capturing your child’s attention and growing a love of books and stories as early as possible.
As a parent you are your child’s first and most important teacher. By spending time together enjoying books, having fun with language, reading, writing and modelling a respect for the written and spoken word you can help your child grow into a skilled lifelong reader – learning that television and videos aren’t the only doorways to entertainment and enchanted worlds!
“Growing Readers” brings together home & nursery life; providing parents with some of the background ‘theory’ behind developing children’s reading skills, and also providing handy Hints & Tips, recommended reading lists and suggested activities for parents and children to explore together. We regularly issue lists of recommended books on a specified theme, with follow up ideas for activities, encouraging your child to develop a love of books and reading!
