Narrative tells a story and can be based on real events, people or periods of history. The factual information is embedded within the narrative, usually chronologically and is written in the past tense. These packs explore a variety of forms including story, fable, myth, poem, play and biography.
The Non-Fiction Genre Book Packs have been put together to give examples of the different writing structures used in information books. Some books do not stick to one writing form throughout and different structures are evident within one text. Each book chosen for these packs contain the most predominant structure but can, of course, be used to show that different writing forms are used within one publication.
