The beginning of the book introduces a bustling farmyard where Starfly's mum (Beth) and dad (Pedro) are proud of their troop of championship sheepdogs who always have terrific successes at the annual show. Starfly, after receiving a 'spruce up' and a midnight blue collar, is not sure he wants to attend the annual show. He causes a series of Chinese whispers and mayhem on the farm. The other animals try to persuade him that participation in the show is the greatest honour. Starfly's dilemma becomes under the comical influence of Sally the sheep and the dramatic events that follow are an exciting read, full of adventure.
