Michael Rosen is a broadcaster, children's novelist, poet and author of 140 books. He is fundamental in opening up children's access to poetry, both through his own writing and with important anthologies. He has been described as "one of the most significant figures in contemporary children's poetry".
Rosen has been writing poetry since the age of 18. His first collection, 'Mind Your Own Business', was published in 1974, since then he has written many more poetry collections such as 'You Wait Till I'm Older than You' and 'Centrally Heated Knickers'. As well as writing poetry he has written picture books such as 'We're Going on A Bear Hunt', 'The Sad Book' and many more. He was appointed as the fifth Children's Laureate from June 2007-2009.
